It opens when you tap the Settings tab at the bottom. What follows is the same order you see on the screen.
Language, categories, and reminders
1 Language
Where
The first line. The current language is shown on the right.
How
Tap it and choose Device language or one of the 15 languages.
Result
The app language changes right away.
Good to know
The languages you can choose are English, 한국어, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Español, Português, ไทย, हिन्दी, Tiếng Việt, Türkçe, and العربية.
2 Manage categories

The Categories screen opens. Changes are saved right away, and there is no separate save button.
Good to know
Edit on the category picker sheet opens the same screen.
3-1 Show time

Turn it on or off. It's on at first.
Result
On: today's records show as '2 hours ago' and past records show their time. Off: dates only.
Good to know
It affects the elapsed time on Home, the record times on the detail screen, and the time in the full-screen photo viewer.

5 Attention threshold
Where
The last line in this group. On the right you see Off or the number of days.
How
Tap it, choose between 1 and 365 days with the −/+ buttons or the slider, and tap OK. To turn it off, tap Off.
Result
Items where this many days or more have passed since the last record are treated as “items not done for a while”.
Good to know
At first it's 7 days. It's used for the bold names on the Catalog's Category tab, for the items in the evening check-in notification, and for choosing candidates for the “Overdue” widget.

What you see
The 8 default categories (Exercise, Study, Work, Cleaning, Chores, Health, Car, Pet) and the categories you made appear in one list.

Tap it, choose an emoji from the quick-pick row or type one in the Emoji field, enter a Category name, and tap Save.
Result
The new category appears in the list.
Good to know
A name can be up to 20 characters. New category on the Catalog screen and the category picker sheet is the same dialog.
7-2 Editing a category

Tap the line, change the emoji and name in the Edit category dialog, and tap Save.
Result
The category's emoji and name change. You can edit the default categories too.
8-1 Reordering

Press and hold, drag up or down, and drop.
Result
The category order changes. It is reflected in the category picker sheet, the category filter on the Catalog calendar, and the order of empty categories on the Catalog's Category tab.
8-2 Deleting a category

Tap it, then tap Delete in the confirmation dialog.
Result
The category is deleted. Items in that category become Uncategorized, and the items and records stay.
Good to know
You can delete the default categories too. The confirmation dialog says how many items will become Uncategorized.
8-3 Restore default categories

How
Tap it.
Result
The default categories you deleted come back at the end of the list. Names and emoji you edited stay as they are.

11 Backup & restore

Result
The backup screen opens. At the top you see the number of items, records, and categories, and the date of the last backup (No backup yet).
Good to know
The category count includes only categories you made.
If you haven't backed up for more than 30 days, a warning appears. It doesn't appear if there was an automatic iCloud save within the last 30 days.
12 Merge items with the same name
Where
The second line under Data

Tap it, check the names you want to merge, and tap Merge. To put it off, tap Not now.
Result
For each name you checked, the items are merged into one. All dates, photos, and notes are kept.
Good to know
For names where both items have a category, the box starts unchecked. When you merge, the first line's category is kept.
You can go back to the state before merging with Restore the previous state.
If no names are shared, you see No items share a name.
13 (iPhone·iPad) Save to iCloud automatically
Where
The switch on the third line under Data. Shown only when iCloud is available.
How
Turn it on or off. It's on at first.
Result
Kept only on your device and your iCloud. The developer can't see it. It saves to iCloud automatically when records change and when you leave the app. The date of the last save is shown below.
Good to know
When you install the app fresh and there are no items but an iCloud copy exists, the Found your earlier records dialog appears. Bring them back with Load them, and if you chose Not now, you can load them with Restore from iCloud on the backup screen.
Backup & restore screen
14-1 What goes into a backup file

Every backup file made on the backup screen
What you see
It contains items, date and time records, notes, the categories you made, category order and edits, and the order within a day.
Good to know
Photos aren't included in the backup file. The backup file only records which photos were attached to which records.
Photos are stored separately inside the app. Photos taken with the camera are also saved to the '언제했지' album in your device's Photos app.
(iPhone·iPad) When Save to iCloud automatically is on, a copy of each photo is also kept in iCloud when you attach it. When you restore with Restore from iCloud, those photos are reattached.
14-2 Create backup file

iPhone·iPad: if iCloud is available, it's saved to Files > iCloud Drive > 언제했지. If not, the share sheet appears.
Good to know
If it can't be saved, you see Couldn't save the file. Try "Send somewhere else".

Tap it and choose where to send it in the share sheet.
Result
Send the backup file wherever you like, such as mail, a messaging app, or the Files app.
14-4 Restore from backup

Tap it, choose a backup file, then choose a method under How should this backup be applied?
Result
Merge: Adds the backup without deleting anything you have now
Replace all: Deletes everything you have now and uses the backup instead. Another confirmation dialog appears.
Good to know
If the file can't be read, you see This file can't be imported. If there's nothing to merge, you see Nothing new to add. You can go back to the state before replacing with Restore the previous state.
14-5 (iPhone·iPad) Restore from iCloud

How
Tap it and choose Merge or Replace all.
Result
It loads the records that were automatically saved to iCloud and reattaches the photos saved in iCloud.
Good to know
If nothing has been saved, you see Nothing is saved in iCloud yet.
14-6 Restore the previous state

How
Tap it, then tap Restore in the confirmation dialog.
Result
Your current data is replaced with the previous state, and Restored the previous state appears.
Good to know
The previous state is saved automatically right before you do Replace all, Delete all data, Restore the previous state, or Merge items with the same name.
